Out of many, one (e pluribus Unum), the concept represented here, was inspired by an ancient wampum medallion. The many tiny beads, though they vary in many ways, are all part of a greater whole. The white circle symbolizing the sun represents strength & healing. Traditionally the purple beads signify sorrow or mourning and the white: peace, health & harmony. Together they create a circle symbolizing life & the continuation of life in the world beyond.
